Ski Art by Leif Bakka

Ski Art Website is meant to supplement skiworld.name witch is a database type Website of my ski collection. I will place my ski and sports relater artwork on this site ski-art.com. My interest in skiing and art has been with me all my life. I have an architecture education and practiced architecture for several years. I have also gone to technical drafting school and before that I went to two separate sports schools in Norway. My dream as a young athlete was to make it as a ski racer. I was fortunate enough to race FIS - European Cup in both Sweden and Norway before I quit. I also raced in the US. I started in high school races in Michigan and Masters racing in Colorado. This background in skiing is my main inspiration for creating art about this subject.

I am probably better known for my Indian portraits than the ski images, but I have painted skiers now and then since childhood. Leif Bakka Art is a database Website for much of my art and design work. It contains architecture, Am. Indian subjects, sports. Both newer and early work is included. I have include some of my early work so that my development as an artist is better understood. Another Website: leifbakka.com focuses on my Indian portraits and Indian leggings.

The second part of ski-art.com is about the Ski World Collection and local ski history in Sauda. I have interviewed some of the old skiers from my hometown. I have also talked to veteran manufacturer of wooden skis from my hometown.
